Team fees cover all team related activities, including practices, skills, and games. Each player’s team fee payment is required by the first team practice. Players will be ineligible to participate in team activities if the team fee is not paid. If you are a TPF Member, contact us below to process your Team Fee with the member discount.
We had a full uniform refresh in Spring 2022. If you still have a Team Fly jersey from Spring 2022 season that fits, you will not need to order a new uniform. If you have not played for Fly since before Spring 2022, you will need to order a uniform kit below. The uniform kit includes a Reversible Jersey & Shorts, Shooting Shirt, and Practice Jersey. Spring 2024 will be the last season before our uniform refresh.
SEASON DETAILS
COMMUNICATION
As a program, we try our best to maintain strong lines of communication with our coaches, players, and parents. If you have a question or concern that needs to be addressed, please don't hesitate to reach out to your coach or to myself. Our goal is to make Team Fly the gold standard in youth sports, and to make sure every player develops and has a great experience. Constructive feedback, at the right time and place, is very helpful in our pursuit of that goal (please see Code of Conduct).
PRACTICE & ATTENDANCE
Players are expected to attend both practices and skills training each week. It is the player's/parent's responsibility to notify their coach ahead-of-time if they will miss a practice or a skills training. Unexcused absences will affect playing time.
GAMES & PLAYING TIME
Games are played on weekends, and are usually played on Saturday’s (High School) and Sunday’s (3rd-8th) with the exception of tournament weekends which will be both Saturday & Sunday. Please arrive 20 minutes before game-time so players have an opportunity to warm-up. If you are going to miss a game or be late, please notify your coach as soon as possible.
As a competitive club program, playing time is not guaranteed. Playing time is something that each player will earn. While we don't guarantee playing time, our goal is to get every player meaningful minutes in order to develop their in-game skills. If you have a question or concern about playing time, we are happy to have the conversation at the right time and place. Please do not attempt to have the 'playing-time' conversation before or after a game. If you email your coach, they will be happy to schedule an appropriate time to have the conversation. The conversation must be focused on your player's playing time (and what they can do to earn more), and not involve discussing other player's on the team.
COACH, PLAYER, AND PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Coaches, players, and parents are all instrumental in understanding and accepting their roles in making this a successful season. Coaches coach, parents cheer, and players play! Please avoid yelling advice to players during the games. There are compelling studies that this behavior during games inhibits the learning experience of player's because of conflicting messages and role uncertainty between parent and coach. Also, please avoid yelling/engaging with the refs. This usually does more harm than good when the refs decide to hold a grudge against our team. Remember, we are not dealing with professional refs who are experienced with fan engagement. For more information, please refer to our Code of Conduct for more details.
VOLUNTEERS
Most of our games will require a Parent volunteer to help with the clock or the stat sheet. If you are willing to volunteer, please let me know. Also, if any parent is planning on videoing games, or keeping stats, please let me know. This can be very helpful when watching game-film with the team, or reviewing game stats.
